    13 years ago this day...

Wondering how I would have turned out with your guidance.  Hope you're proud of the man I've grown to become.

    Miss you, Ba.

In honor of your memory, I grew out my 'stache:

    It took me 3 weeks!

As an aside, a disturbing number of my good friends (all males, strangely) have lost a father in the past few years, through sickness or accident.  I think of it as joining The Dead Father's Club; all of us have changed irrevocably, have become stronger men, but at a terrible cost.  Here's hoping membership in this particular group remains low for as long as possible.

every time i hear this song i think of you and your daddy. :)

he must have done a damn good job when he was around,
cause you turned out pretty wonderful. i should know, right ?

oh, and i'm impressed with the stache.

In that case, I'm sorry I made fun of your mustache in college. Now I just feel like a jerk. But anyway, today I wish you and you family the best. It seems like when you lose someone the calendar is just dotted with so many significant dates - birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

So here's to the club. I'd much prefer mourning a premature death than to have had the type of relationship where the death doesn't bring grief, even if a couple more years would've been nice.

And by the way, that's an awesome photograph at the top of this post, too.

your post made me re-evaluate my own relationship with my father. sometimes i get frustrated with his constant questioning -- its easy to lose sight of the fact that he does so out of concern and love.  thanks for the reminder to be grateful for what we have, while we have it. hope you're doing well amigo.

Hey can I join your club ? - except I'm a female...he definitely is proud of the man you've become today, and you've got plenty of time to continue making him proud!  Take care and hold on to all your sweet memories together =)
